Michalis Maroulakis

Due to his passionate presence and amazing massages, Michalis Maroulakis has been nicknamed “the man with the golden claws”. He has been part of the Gardens of Babylon from the beginning, introducing the massage and healing area at the parties. He has earned his stripes for making hundreds of people relaxed and happy with his sound healings and massages. During these moments he invites you to take a leap into another dimension, surrendering to the moment. With the help of his mystical instruments and magic hands, he will take you on a journey inwards. Surfing on the waves of sound and touch, embarking on a journey through your chakras, deep into yourself.

Michalis is a cocktail, a colorful chameleon, half Greek-half Dutch, and 100% recycled stardust. As a global nomad, his insatiable curiosity led him to many places across the globe. He also traveled professionally as an International Alpine Tour leader, guiding groups on adventures that are often too outrageous to find fellow congenial. During one of his many trips, he came across the Himalayas. A cycling expedition brought him from Lhasa, Tibet to Kathmandu, Nepal. There he fell in love with its colorful inhabitants, relaying: “I came for the mountains and I returned for its people”.

Many travels to Nepal followed, which is where he learned about singing bowls. Despite their considerable weight, a singing bowl now always accompanies him on trips. In Thailand, Michalis learned about massage, which he blends with sound healing during sessions. Sometimes he joins forces with other teachers for ceremonies with cacao, or different types of yoga. 

During The Monastery experience, Michalis is known to lead multiple collective gatherings such as cacao ceremonies and angel tunnels. However, if you truly want to experience a magical moment, you should book an individual massage, sound healing, or best of all; a combination of both!

Michalis uses musical instruments from all over the world during his sessions in addition to singing bowls from Nepal. The magical bowls are placed upon the body for each chakra. Played in different ways, the sounds result in different resonation, tones, and vibrations. This releases built-up tension and neglected emotions. The massage style is a fusion between Wat Pho Thai Massage, Shiatsu, and deep tissue.

Last but not least, he teams up with Kennia for “Orgasmic Bliss”. This four-hands massage experience feels like a roundtrip to Nirvana. You are even fed fruit and chocolate! As all is tailored to clients’ needs, each session is different and unique. Experience for yourself!
